Harvey Childs is a Welsh visual artist based in Swansea, UK. He has recently achieved a BA (Hons) at the Swansea College of Art, and will begin to study his MA in Contemporary Dialogues.
Diagnosed as autistic at 19 years old, Childs has since dedicated his practice to an exploration of self-identity and a greater understanding of the neurodivergent state of being. Childs predominantly work with experimental analogue and video-based processes. His primary study in “cymatics” - or sound visualisation - allows for merging observation and external sensory reception representation.
In the current era, where the autistic community is ostracised and used as pawns for conspiracy, a positive conversation around autistic acceptance and accommodation is more important than ever.
